Aisah Aubdool is a Lecturer in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at Queen Mary University of London. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology before gaining her PhD in Cardiovascular Medical Research in 2014 from King’s College London, under the mentorship of Prof. Susan Brain. Her research advanced the mechanistic understanding of TRPA1 in the vascular homeostasis. In 2014, Aisah started her postdoctoral training in collaboration with Novo Nordisk, investigating the role of a novel calcitonin-gene related peptide (CGRP) analogue in hypertension & heart failure. Aisah moved to WHRI in 2016 as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Prof. Adrian Hobbs. She was awarded the BPS Bill Bowman Lectureship Prize and Pickford award to support her professional development as an ECR. Her research is focused on investigating the role of natriuretic peptides in vascular remodelling & aortic aneurysms. Aisah joined the BPS in 2010 and is currently the regional Ambassador coordinator, Senior Editor for Pharmacology Matters & Engagement Committee member at BPS. Additionally, Aisah is a STEM ambassador, mentor on the QMUL BAME mentoring scheme, QMUL WISE Committee Outreach Officer and the former Chair of the IUPHAR ECR Committee (2018-2022).
